About James

James Max is a respected journalist and broadcaster, widely known for his incisive
commentary on current affairs and business. A dynamic media presence, he is a regular columnist for the Weekend FT and presenter on Talk, contributor to The Jeremy Vine Show on Channel 5, and appears frequently across a range of television and radio programmes.

James previously hosted the Early Breakfast show on Talk and BBC Radio London. For four years he presented the Weekend Breakfast Show on LBC Radio. He first rose to national prominence as a semi-finalist on the inaugural UK series of The Apprentice, where he demonstrated a sharp business mind and natural media flair.

Beyond broadcasting, James is a trusted advisor in the property and business sectors, offering strategic guidance on business development, communications, and the effective use of social and digital media. His corporate leadership experience includes serving as Executive Director at BNP Paribas Real Estate, where he oversaw four business divisions and sat on the UK Board. And as non-executive Chair M7 Regional E-Warehouse REIT, underlining his continued leadership and expertise in the commercial real estate sector.

He remains closely involved in high-profile development initiatives, including his advisory role with Stanhope, the developer behind the transformation of the former BBC Television Centre in West London. He also hosted the Real Talk podcast for Estates Gazette, sharing insights and interviews from across the property industry.

Deeply committed to arts and civic life, James is a council member, Vice President and trustee of the Hall of Arts and Sciences—better known as the Royal Albert Hall. He also serves as Chair of the Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club.
